Kate’s plays include Nurse Cadden (commissioned by The Vagrancy) and Mod Party (KCATCF Region II Ten Minute Play Award, World Premiere: Actor’s Theatre of Louisville).

Her screenplay, Capturing the Stars, won a $20,000 grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in 2012 and received an Honorable Mention for the Sloan/Tribeca Grand Jury Prize in 2013.

As an essayist, Kate has been published by The Los Angeles Times, XO Jane and The Awl. She has also written monologues for the collection “Teen Girl’s Comedic Monologues That Are Actually Funny,” published by Applause Books.

She holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University, where she was the recipient of the Steven Bochco Fellowship. She is an alumna of The British American Drama Academy’s Midsummer in Oxford Program and has studied improv and sketch comedy at The Upright Citizens Brigade.
